Dr. Dorothy J. Rotich

Dr. Dorothy J. Rotich is a Senior Lecturer in hospitality management at Moi University and former Director - Privately Sponsored Students Programme (PSSP). She received her PhD training in Tourism management from Moi University, Master of Science in Food Science and Technology from the University of Nairobi and Bachelor of Science degree in Home Science and Technology from Moi University, all in Kenya. Before her current posting she served briefly as the Acting director Eldoret West Campus. The research interests are in Food and Beverage Production, Food safety and hygiene, Nutrition and Accommodation in the hospitality industry.

Prof. Jacqueline C. Korir

Prof Jacqueline Korir is a lecturer and entrepreneur in events and hotel business with over 20 years experience. She is an associate member of Tourism Professional Association (TPA), President of Association of Hospitality Professionals and Practitioners in Africa (AHPPA) and Event Organizers Association of Kenya (EOAK) member. She is the acting Dean and chair of postgraduate studies in the School of Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management. Jacqueline has graduated three PhD and seventeen masters’ students’, examined 35 thesis and an external examiner in eight public universities. She participated in curriculum development for Doctor of Philosophy in Hospitality Management.

Dr. Susan Matiku

Brendah is a lecturer in the department of Tourism Management. She started off her career in 2009 having completed her masters in Development studies. Her interests shifted to Tourism Management when she started pursuing a Doctor of philosophy degree and focused on Human Resource issues. Specifically, she is interested in the young employees in the Tourism industry. In the process of this academic journey, Brendah has learned and applied both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. She currently teaches Human Resource Management, Communication and Sustainable Tourism Management. She is the departmental coordinator for the diploma program. Brendah is a member of the Forum for African Women in Education (FAWE, Kenya).

Mr. Jonathan P. Ng'oriarita

Jonathan has been a lecturer in the Department of Tourism Management, School of Tourism, Hospitality & Events Management Moi University, since 2011. Apart from teaching, research, supervision, outreach and community service, I have also served the Department and School in different capacities namely; as School ISO Champion, School quality Assurance Champion, Departmental industrial attachment coordinator among other responsibilities. In received Bachelor of Education (arts) from Moi University in the year 2003 and a master of philosophy in Tourism management in 2010 still from Moi University. My research interests are on improving the understanding, planning, development and management of the tourism sector in order to better the living conditions of the stakeholders especially the local communities in destination areas. Since I joined the School of Tourism, Hospitality & Events Management in 2011, I have successfully delivered teaching, research, supervision and outreach & community service diligently and meticulously to the satisfaction of the respective clients. I have negotiated and successfully placed students on different tourist organizations for their industrial attachment placements. I have presided over different curricular reviews. My area of specialization is Tourism Geography and Tourism Economics, Sports Tourism, Community-based tourism, Human resource management in Tourism among others. I’m a member of Tourism professionals association (TPA) and The Organization of Social Science Research in Eastern and Southern Africa (OSSREA).
