Damiannah M. Kieti is an Associate Professor at Moi University and tourism expert with over 17 years of experience. She has been involved in teaching, research and consultancy in tourism and related fields. She has carried out numerous projects in tourism product development, Community based tourism development, Small and Medium Tourism Enterprises Development, tourism management plans, tourism curricula development, tourism training and research, sustainable tourism development and pro-poor tourism development. She has supervised more than 8 PhD and 25 Masters’ candidates to completion. She is an author of more than 25 journal articles and seven book chapters and served as an external examiner for 11 Universities and 2 colleges. She is the founding editor of African Journal of Tourism and Hospitality. She has held several management positions including Head of Department of Tourism and Tour Operations Management, Moi University and the former Dean - School of Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management, Moi University. She has initiated and maintained Eight (8) Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) between Moi University and other external institutions. She was awarded Chancellor’s Excellence in Service Award in December, 2017 for Demonstrating Leadership and Enterprise in Managing the School of Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management.
Prof. Moses Makonjio Okello teaches and does research mainly on wildlife management and ecology, Human – wildlife interactions, resource use and ecotourism and wildlife – based tourism. He obtained his B.Sc. degree in Wildlife Management from Moi University (Eldoret, Kenya) in 1990; M.Sc. in Wildlife Resources from the University of Idaho (Moscow, USA) in 1993; and his Ph.D. in Wildlife Management and Ecology from the University of Alberta (Edmonton, Canada) in 1996. He has vast teaching experience, having worked at Moi University (October 1990 - July 1999; and from June 2015 to Dec 2018 to now) and also an associate of The School for Field Studies (SFS) an American Study Abroad Institution. He has extensive research experience with a good publication record. He has also held several administrative positions at Moi University and SFS – CWMS. He is the current a professor in the department of Tourism and Hospitality. Prof. Okello mainly teaches statistics, research methods, wildlife – based tourism and domestic tourism, besides topics on wildlife conservation and management.
