Mr. Peter Mutinda

The lecturer is a 40 year old Kenyan, a Bachelors and Masters graduate of Moi University, currently in third year of PhD in Tourism Management. Scholarly work is generally in tourism management, specifically in wildlife and community tourism. He is a member of several tourism and hospitality-related associations including ATLAS, Ecotourism Kenya, and Wildlife Clubs of Kenya. Professional expertise details lectureship and supervision in varied tourism management disciplines. Achievements are varied, ranging from First Class Honours in Tourism Management (Moi University-2004) to attracting arguably considerable research funding to Moi University from diverse donors including VICRES, EU-3ASTEP, and NCST among others.

Dr. Wendy C. Rop

Wendy is committed to transforming lives, mentoring students and colleagues to reach their full potential as well as become the change they want to be. Through my strong Knowledge in Strategic tourism development and management, this enables me to teach and supervise academic work by undergraduate and postgraduate students, conduct high quality research both individually and collaboratively, as reflected in authorship of publications and other research outputs, in the areas of Tourism Management and related field like Agriculture and geo science.

My commitment to quality teaching, academic research, student mentorship and continuous personal professional development has allowed me to be part of professional bodies which include; Kenya Institute of Management, Academy of Management, Tourism Professional Association, Ecotourism Society, ATLAS Africa and Centre for Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Research as well as attract grants (Academy of Global Governance, Global Governance Programme, Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, European University Institute) and scholarship (Short term Chinese Scholarship-China)- This provided me the opportunity to start Chinese Language as an option for students in the School of Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management

Ms. Tabitha Mugo

Tabitha Mugo is a lecturer in the Department of Tourism Management, School of Tourism, Hospitality & Events Management, Moi University, Kenya. Tabitha holds a PhD from Wageningen University-Netherlands, Masters in Tourism Management and a BSc Forest Management from Moi University-Kenya, a Diploma in Information Technology from Brisbane Institute of Technical and Further Education [TAFE]-Australia. Tabitha’s research interests revolve around sustainability issues in tourism, biodiversity conservation and development linkage. Specifically, her focus is on partnerships as significant governance tools for sustainable development in landscapes.

Dr. Beatrice Imbaya

Dr. Imbaya is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Tourism Management. She holds a Ph.D in Tourism Management from the same university and researches in Tourism Entrepreneurship, Community Based and Rural Tourism, Tourism Education and Development. She has published numerous articles in these areas and presented several papers at various academic fora. Her teaching career, both at tertiary and university level spans a period of 30 years. She has held several administrative responsibilities including serving as the Head of Tourism Management Department, Moi University for 6 years.  She is a member of the Kenya Institute of Management, Ecotourism Kenya and the Association for Tourism and Leisure Education and Research (ATLAS - Africa).
